The LPG gas control systems communicate directly with the vehicles original control system. At all times when running on gas, the original petrol system is in control with the gas control system merely acting as an amplifier to power its gas injectors. This results in perfect drivability, fully automatic operation and full OBD and emission compliance. As it is a sequential system there is of course never any gas in the manifold, hence there is no chance of blowback or deviation in the system, as gas is injected straight onto the inlet valve in the same way as petrol. The most common location for the LPG Tanks is to remove the spare wheel from under the vehicle and fit either a large single tank or 2 tanks to give maximum range. Inside the pickup on the dash, you will have a new fuel gauge showing how much LPG is in the tanks.

Running a vehicle on LPG, doubles the range of your vehicle and can halve the fuel costs. This means that your vehicle will become a bi-fuel vehicle running on Unleaded fuel and LPG, thereby doubling the range of your vehicle. At the same time, the cost of running the vehicle could be cut in half as LPG is so much cheaper than petrol. The type of system we fit comprises of one electronic gas injector per cylinder. The LPG gas control systems communicate directly with the vehicles original control system. At all times when running on gas, the original petrol system is in control with the gas control system merely acting as an amplifier to power its gas injectors. This results in perfect drivability, fully automatic operation and full OBD and emission compliance. As it is a sequential system there is of course never any gas in the manifold, hence there is no chance of blowback or deviation in the system, as gas is injected straight onto the inlet valve in the same way as petrol. The most common location for the LPG Tanks is to remove the spare wheel from under the vehicle and fit either a large single tank or 2 tanks to give maximum range. Inside the pickup on the dash, you will have a new fuel gauge showing how much LPG is in the tanks.

When it comes to American Pick Up Trucks, American Car Imports will add whatever accessory you need to personalise your pickup. These truck parts can include a bedliner, tonneau cover (soft, sliding, folding or fibre glass), truck topper with or without windows, bug deflector, side steps, tow bar, toolbox, ladder rack, or bed rug. American Car Imports, one of the UK’s leading American vehicle importers will be importing the next generation 2009 Ford F-150. Ford and America’s most popular vehicle the F-150 pick up truck has been revamped for 2009.
There will be more features offered and an increase in the power with a greater choice of engines. Two versions of a 4.6-liter V8 will be offered along with a 5.4 V8 and a 6.2 V8. The 5.4-liter V8 will be a Bi-Fuel or Flex-Fuel vehicle capable of running on E85 ethanol-blended fuel and is likely to be the most popular choice for American Car Imports customers in the UK and Europe.
New for 2009 will be The Raptor, an off-road themed model that will be powered by a 380-hp 6.2-liter V8. The Raptor will get a special off-road tuned suspension. A 4-speed automatic transmission is available with the base 4.6, and a 6-speed automatic transmission is available for the up level 4.6, as well as the 5.4 and 6.2.
Both 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive versions will be offered. All 4WD versions will have a choice of manual or electronic 4WD selection. Safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, front side airbags, and side curtain airbags. There will be eight different trim levels for the 2009 F150, XL, STX, off-road themed FX4 and Raptor, midlevel XLT, up level King Ranch and Lariat, and top of the range Platinum. Regular Cab, Super Cab, and Super Crew Cabs will be available, along with four pickup box sizes and styles. The XL will have 17-inch wheels as standard whilst the other models will have 18 or 20inch wheels. The Platinum will have the 20 inch wheels as standard.
New options will include a hideaway side step for access to the pickup bed, a tailgate step, a bed extender, a cargo management system to secure items in the bed, and lockable storage. Other available features may include a cap less fuel filler, Ford’s Sync voice-activated cell phone and MP3 player control system, a voice-activated navigation system that includes real-time traffic information, a rear view camera, and Premium audio system, American Car Imports can install similar systems for UK customers to incorporate UK and European satellite navigation.
Gear changes are improved with an available six-speed automatic transmission. A new frame that is lighter yet improves torsional rigidity by 10% over the out going model).

The Dodge Ram is the full size American Pick Up Truck from Chrysler. The name was first used on Dodge hood ornaments on vehicles of the 1930’s and 1940’s and first used on a pick up truck back in 1981 on the then redesigned Dodge Ram and Power Ram. Dodge Ram Pick Up Trucks have been named Truck of the year twice by Motor trend, firstly in 1994 and the third generation Heavy Duty Ram won the award in 2003.
The current 2008 Dodge Ram is available in a wide range of configurations, 1500, 2500 or 3500 payload, regular cab, quad cab, mega cab, standard 6 foot 4 inch bed-length or extended 8 foot bed length and 2-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive. A wide choice of trim specifications is offered, ST, SXT, SLT, TRX4 Off Road, Sport, Power Wagon and Laramie.
The latest Ram has the 5.7 litre V-8 Hemi, OHV SMPI 16 valve engine with cylinder deactivation allowing 4 of the engines 8 cylinders to shut down under light or low speed driving therefore making the most of the economy available. As soon as you need a little power, on acceleration the full power of the 8 cylinders comes into play. Power door locks with 2-stage unlock, power windows with deep tint and 1-touch down for the driver, power adjustable pedals and power and heated adjustable exterior mirrors.

2009 Dodge Durango Hybrid from American Car Imports in London

American Car Imports in London offer the latest Hybrid American Car, The 2009 Dodge Durango. American Car Imports works as an independent importer, importing the Dodge Durango for specific customers in the UK .Available from summer 2008 the vehicle will have a two-mode hybrid powertrain designed to boost fuel economy and reduce emissions. 

The 2009 Dodge Durango Hybrid will share its two-mode hybrid system with the 2009 Chrysler Aspen Hybrid and a new range of full-size SUV hybrids from General Motors. The system was developed with BMW, GM and Mercedes-Benz.

The two-mode hybrid system will use a new electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (ECVT) mated to the 5.7-litre Hemi V8. This engine also has Dodge’s Multi-Displacement System as used in the Ram, which shuts down four cylinders under light load conditions to save fuel. Total output is 385 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. Dodge says the hybrid system will boost city fuel economy by 40 percent and overall fuel economy by more than 25 percent. That should raise fuel economy to about 22 mpg in the city and 23 on the highway compared to 16 city and 21 highway for the regular AWD Durango.

The continuously variable transmission has two electric motors and four fixed gears. A controller determines when the vehicle should operate in the first or second mode. The first mode is mainly to be used in town driving and can use battery power alone up to 30 mph. The second mode is meant for highway speeds and always uses full engine power. The controller determines the necessary torque for the driving conditions and instructs the engine and electric motors to respond accordingly. Torque is transferred to a series of gears in the transmission, which multiply torque similar to a conventional automatic transmission to propel the vehicle. No engine speed changes are necessary for mode shifts to occur.

The Durango Hybrid will have a 300-volt battery pack located under the second-row seats. The battery pack will power the electric motors, and regenerative braking will charge the batteries. A rectifier under the hood will convert the battery pack’s AC power to DC to power such accessories as interior lighting, the climate control system, and the radio.

The Durango Hybrid will have a power gauge that will show when the electric motors are aiding power or being charged. The power gauge will also have a green “economy” zone that drivers can use to aim for the optimum fuel economy.

The 2009 Dodge Durango Hybrid will be available as an all-wheel drive model with equipment to match the top of the range Limited. Standard features will include dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, the MyGIG Multi-Media Infotainment System, seating for eight, power-adjustable pedals, heated front seats, a rearview camera, and a power liftgate. Dodge’s MyGIG Multi-Media Infotainment System comes with an eight-inch touch screen, a navigation system with voice activation and real-time traffic, and a 20-gigabyte hard drive that holds music and picture files, as well as navigation map information.

Pricing hasn’t been announced, but the Dodge Durango Hybrid is expected to start from £36,000 when it goes on sale in the middle of 2008.
